Horizons - Mission 2018

During this project my class worked with the German Aerospace Agency (DLR) to create a logo for a 2018 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). We spent the whole semester, and more, researching, developing, and fine tuning our logos. We presented our logos to Alexander Gerst, the German astronaut who will be leading the Horizons mission, where he made a decision about what logo would be used for the mission.

Here are the mock ups of the logo in use. From patches on polos and suits, to give away items such as bath bombs, astronaut food, reusable bags and mugs, and t-shirts.
Here are all the different ways that you can use the logo that I created. I have the patch, and the logo with a name for polo shirts. The logo with the slogan in English and in German, and it can also be changed to have the text on the side.
We also had to create alternate versions of the logo. I have a 12 color version of the logo to make it easier to print, and make into a patch. I also have a black and white version, for when color printing is not ideal. 
We had to create a sub-logo system along with our main logo. A sub-logo system would be used for other missions or experiments within the Horizons mission. My sub logo system is organized into three categories, if the experiment is about improving life on earth then they would use the logo with the earth as the main focus in the visor of the helmet.
